La Bastide 's Restaurant

The dining room is lined with honeyed 18th-century woodwork, travertine floors, a grand fireplace and contemporary artworks. In the summer, the restaurant opens onto a garden terrace, where one dines in the open air, among the roses and the fountains. A perfect setting to end the evening with an Armagnac under the arches, in a wicker chair, lulled by the garden’s gentle murmur.

At the helm is Chef Jonathan Bordes, a thoughtful, intuitive thirty-something trained in Paris’ finest establishments — Plaza Athénée, Le Laurent, Royal Monceau. His approach is rooted in the classics but always led by taste. “What I look for is clarity. A leading flavour, and a tension. A dialogue on the plate.”

His cooking begins with an ingredient — often vegetal, always fresh — and builds around it.

White asparagus from Gascony with blood orange mousseline, Mediterranean wrasse with green asparagus, a carrot and ginger choux… The menu shifts with the seasons and the mood of the market.

Raised in a family of restaurateurs in Paris’ vibrant 10th arrondissement, Jonathan grew up among the colours of Rungis and the scent of Indian groceries. These early influences infuse his dishes with subtle hints of travel and fusion — verbena oil, ginger syrup, exotic herbs — always balanced, never overpowering.

At La Table de la Bastide, the service is precise but never stiff — gracious, genuine, and attentive. Christophe, Maddy and their cheerful Team lead the room with warmth and savoir-faire, bringing to life the spirit of a great country house.
